Thought of the day - Expectations on someone

Thought of the day (1) - Expectations on someone

Do you ever realize that each and every one around you would have certain expectations on somebody that they know. The level of expectations basically depends on how close or how well you know the person. For example, I would have lower expectations towards a hi-bye friends in opposed to a very close friend that I have. There's this very famous saying that goes - the higher your expectations is, the more likely that you are going to be disappointed or get hurt in the end. So....how high do you want to set your expectations on close friends or people around you? When do you know that the limit that you set is not too high until that they cannot cope or cannot stand it? Another thing that kinds of stroke my mind as well when I'm typing this that is is there any element of taking the other person for granted cause you have very high expectations on them? In a nutshell, would you be taking the other personss feelings, emotions, thoughts for granted because you wanted them to do something that you wanted them to or to think the way you do??? Well, I think that it's true from what I see in myself. This viewpoint is basically for the person who has expectation on somebody. Then, how about the person who is being anticipated to live up to their expectation?

The question that I would like to ask is that......Should they live up to their expectations or not? And why? If they chose to, doesn't it kind of shapes them to a person that another one wants them to be as a result losing their individuality?? If they chose not to, then are they considered as selfish? Or not living up to the "standards" of closeness with the other person?

So, I think the end of the question again asks us all again---DO YOU WANT TO? Till date, I'm not sure how I should response to this simple question that I've posted.

Anyway...that's the thought of the day...have fun reading!
